These Yellow Shoes...

 So....

Last weekend my honey and I had a date night!

We went to see Ms. Erykah Badu!

And this is what I wore...

Do any of you have those types of outfits that instantly make you feel sexy?

Yeah, this was one of them...

I've been hard body thrifting in search of a camo jacket but have had no luck finding one in my size.

So after searching my closet, I ended up finding these camo skinnies that I had never worn.

Red Sheer-Ross
I purchased them from....get this...

WALMART!!!!

On clearance for THREE BUCKS!!!

This was a while back now-during the era when Miley Cyrus' line was a big hit.

Camo Skinnies-Walmart
These yellow shoes make me feel super sexy too...

Target always comes through for me.

I found these lovelies on clearance for $9!

So I purchased them in blue as well.

Shoes-Target
I paired the 'fit with gold accessories to make the red sheer pop even more.

The gold also went really well with the yellow shoes, which don't really match with anything else.

But I'm totally infatuated with them for right now.

I actually can't wait to find more things to pair them with.

Or, I could just keep wearing this 'fit over and over again.

What is your go to outfit?

I can't wait to hear from you.

Thanks for reading!

Trendy Tuesday: Animal Prince

Okay yall, I'm convinced.....

I need an Animal Prince!!!

One who will grant my wishes and bring me any type of animal print that I request.

Including these lovely things...

Animal Prince...

Alexon nude dress, $135 / Wallis animal print dress / Dorothy Perkins peplum dress / Biba crew neck sweater, $95 / Leopard top, $19 / Wallis snake boots / Charlotte Russe high top wedge sneaker / Lipsy / Movado animal print jewelry / Warehouse leopard print belt

My Animal Prince will love me because I won't break his pockets-all of the aforepictured (yep, definitely just made that up!) are fairly inexpensive-with only ONE item being over $100!

My Animal Prince will think I'm fabulous, sassy, and flyer than a piece of paper bearing his name!

And most of all, my Animal Prince will second the notion that I'm the trendiest girl on the block...

Because after all,

Animal Print is the new BLACK!!!

What do you think about the overwhelming amount of animal print you've seen lately?

Do you love it or hate it!?

I can't wait to hear from you!

Savin' Maven Monday: 2 Ways to Wear Pink Trousers

Happy Monday my loves.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Mine was full of rest, relaxation, and time spent with my honey and family. We spent Friday night at an Erykah Badu concert (outfits pics will be posted soon) and on Saturday I visited my mom to get a giant bowl of her homemade gumbo. Yum!

Lately, I've been getting rid of alot of things in my closet. It's been extremely hard for me to part with some of the items but I've found that to be the only effective way for me to make room for the new stuff that I've acquired.

Things that I haven't worn in the last year-gone!
Things that don't excite me when I put them on-gone!
Things that don't flatter my figure-gone!

However, things that I'm able to remix over and over, like these pink trousers, are a definite keeper.

Though they're bright and summery, I've enjoyed styling them for cool, not cold, temperatures.

Since it's usually cooler in the early morning and late night hours during these seasons, I chose to use layers.

This would allow me to peel off a layer should I get to warm in the middle of the day.

Trousers/Chambray-NY&Co
Trousers/Button Up-NY&Co
I initially styled them in the Spring with a white blazer and chambray.

Then, I styled them recently with a lace panel button-up layered under a V-neck sweater.

The pants were also perfect for these seasons as they are neither short nor full length. They add depth to the 'fit by allowing the full shoe to be displayed.

Heels-Steve Madden

I love pieces that are able to be remixed.

Not only do they save me money but they also allow me to get the most use out of my closet.

What items in your closet do you get the most use out of?

I can't wait to hear from you!

Friday Favorites: Vol #23

Happy Friday my loves!

Let me tell you....I am sooooo glad it's the end of the work week.

I'm not sure if I would've made it through say today wasn't Friday. I've had a very strenuous week and I'm so ready for a break.

I haven't given you a dose of my favorites in a while so just writing this post makes me happy and able to forget about the fact that I was seconds away from leaving my job.

Let's go...

Okay, so if you've been reading for some time then you know that my Target obsession is REAL. I can't let a week go by without visiting. Here is my paper trail to prove it. It's actually borderline unhealthy!

This movie that my honey has been trying to get me to watch for the past month or so-ACT OF VALOR. I've been telling him no because I'm not really into war stories....but THIS....OMG....it's another movie that will go onto my Top 10 list!

I love music so much. My honey gave me this!!

This 'fit that never made it onto the blog. This preppy look makes me die!

And these $10 loafers that I scored from Plato's! They come in so handy on days when I don't really feel like dressing up.

Solange!!!! My celeb twin-loves her!!

Spending time with my goddaughter. I love this little girl so much! I can't wait until she gets older so we can do hair and nails!

These simple costumes. I told my honey that if all else fails this is what we could wear. They're only $8 a piece from Oriental Trader.

My mag swag. I finally received my first issue of US weekly. I posted about the FREE 2-yr subscription on my Facebook page a couple of weeks ago. For more freebies and great deals, you should go like my page-IMMEDIATELY!
(the link to follow is listed in my sidebar)

I've been loving on chocolate this past week. I had these 2 days in a row.

Can't wait for 'date night'! It's actually more like a date weekend me and the honey will be having dinner and seeing a movie over the weekend too. I would much rather do a live concert than to get a new pair of red bottoms from him. Material things never last long but great memories last a lifetime. I'm so ready for some Erykah Baduism tonight!

Lastly, I went to my mailbox and found this the other day. I love their kind of love.

What were some of your favorite things this week!

I can't wait to hear from you!

If I Were A Boy...

Sometimes I wish I could dress like a boy!

A man, rather.

I love nicely tailored pants that fall perfectly over my shoes.

Trousers/Button Up-NY&Co

Blazers make me weak in the knee area...

Blazer-Thrifted (Issac Mizrahi)

and these things....the vest get-up!?

Vest-XXI
What are they called?????

 They're hella sexy!

Belt-Thrifted | Heels-Thrifted
If I could, I would wear pantsuits, blazers, and tailored slacks-with creases-on a daily basis.

But since I don't have a cubicle on Wall Street, I have dedicated this day as my day to be be bossy, androgynous, and....

FIERCE....

Don't forget the "F"

F pendant-Platos | Watch-Target

What pieces would your menswear inspired look include?

I can't wait to hear from you.

Trendy Tuesday: Wanna Ride

Happy Tuesday...

It's my favorite day of the blog week so you know what that means...

It's time for another installment of  Trendy Tuesday!

This week I want to highlight some of my favorite riding boots...

Wanna Ride...
Sorel waterproof boots / LOFT zipper boots / Round toe boots / Dorothy Perkins low heels / Genuine leather boots / UGG Australia low heels / Ralph Lauren flats boots / Matiko knee high leather boots / Rupert Sanderson genuine leather boots / Round toe boots / Volatile zipper boots

It speaks volumes when you are able to combine comfort and chic along with versatility.

Not only will they keep you warm on those chilly fall nights but they also look fab-especially the two toned ones.

Ahhhh...I die!!!

Pair them with leather-esque leggings and a chunky sweater layered over chambray and you're ready to ride with the big horses!

What will you pair your riding boots with this fall?

I can't wait to hear from you!

Savin' Maven Monday: The Wonderful World of Couponing

Happy Monday my loves!

I hope all of you had a great weekend.

I spent a majority of my weekend resting and relaxing-no major events or outings for me.

The honey and I have some fun events coming up beginning this weekend and I can't wait!

If you've been reading for a while then you know how much of a couponer I am. While relaxing, I decided to go through my stash and clip some savings.

For any of you interested in delving into the wonderful world of couponing, should I first warn you that this is NOT the task for you if you don't have an abundance of patience.

It took me well over an hour to clip and sort 3 weeks worth of coupons...

And then place them into my binder....

They are all sorted by type of coupon (ie-frozen food, makeup, cleaning products) and placed into baseball card inserts for easy access and visibility.

The initial organization process is time consuming, however, this method saves tons of time when you're browsing the aisles of the grocery store.

I got this binder for 1 buck from the thrift store and lemme tell you-it's the best dollar I've ever invested!

Inside of the binder there are several compartments for me to place coupon policies, a calculator and notepad (for tallying my expenses), and other coupons that wouldn't fit into the inserts.

Like these...

I will not....

Lemme repeat that...

I WILL NOT shop without a coupon.

Unless it's something that I absolutely HAVE to have, I'm always with savings.

Even when the honey and I plan dinner dates, I scour my binder to see what coupons I have first. Currently I have Red Lobster, Ruby Tuesday, and Outback Steakhouse coupons so those are spots we will be visiting over our next couple of date nights.

In the fast food arena, I have lots of coupons for Hardees; also Subway is holding a BOGO FREE special for the month of October so I will be frequenting those two places if I need food on the fly.

I also love that most of my favorite stores like Old Navy, New York & Company, and Bath & Body Works keep me loaded with coupons. They know how to keep a customer happy and coming back for more.

What is your method for saving while shopping?

I can't wait to hear from you!
