My Obsession with Pink Pants...

I've never really been a huge fan of the color pink.

That's pretty obvious in this post.

But when I saw these pink boot cut pants on the clearance rack at Target, I knew I was in love. I debated so long about whether or not I should purchase them. I mean I literally thought about these pants in my sleep. Has anyone else ever done that?

NO!!!

Okay so maybe it's just me-the crazy shopaholic lady who dreams about clothes all night long.

Pants-Target
I thought about a million and one ways to style the pants but the original markdown price of $12.48 was still a bit too much for me. When they finally got marked down to $6.88 I didn't really have another choice. So I paid up.

Call me cheap or whatever-I call it frugality at it's best. And I'm not ashamed of it either.

That's my way of life and I'm sticking to it.

Upon purchasing these pants I knew exactly how I would style them.

I cringe at matchy matchy looks so I knew that I wanted to do some contrasting colors here.

This thrifted JCrew plaid was perfect underneath my chocolate sweater.

Here lately I've noticed myself shying away from lots of heels. Don't get me wrong, I'm totally a heel fanatic but the extremely cold weather in my area has me seeking more comfortable ensembles. There's nothing worse than being cold with hurting feet. And lemme tell you-I HATES being cold. I'm that chick who goes to bed with footed pajamas, an electric blanket, and an oscillating space heater. My honey hates it!!

Needless to say, I wore this 'fit to church. I was able to feel comfortable and cute during worship without feeling like I was doing too much.

BTW, I hope you aren't fed up with my riding boots yet. They will make several more appearances here on the blog before the summer hits. I just can't get enough of them.

Which pieces of clothing do you find yourself obsessing over in the wee hours of the night?

I can't wait to hear from you!

Thanks for reading.

Happy Monday my loves!
I hope each of you had a very wonderful and productive weekend.

Pretty Lace and Green Baubles...

Lace is one of those types of materials that really tricky to style. It's either way too sexy for casual everyday wear and runs the risk of appearing sleazy if you know what I mean... OR it can run the risk of looking like grandma's favorite thrift store tablecloth.

And I'm not fond of either of those visuals.

As a matter of fact, lace wasn't even close to my radar until recently when I found some gorgeous lace dresses on the clearance rack at Target.

Then there was this....
Lace Shirt-gifted
I fell in love with this pretty lace shirt when my Mother gave it to me for Christmas. I immediately began thinking of ways to style it.

Being that it fit a little large on me I decided to layer it with one of my favorite thrifted blazers.

Blazer-Thrifted
Of course since we are in the middle of March and the weather is still a bit cold I layered the lace over a plaid button up.

Button Up-Thrifted
I love this time of year because I get to layer many pieces and get the maximum use out of my wardrobe.

Layering also allows me the option of not having to wear a heavy coat when shopping or hanging out with friends.

To keep up with the St. Patrick's Day festivities I threw on some green skinnies (last styled here). If you haven't noticed by now, I love playing with color. These androgynous colors went so well together. I'm definitely thinking of more ways to pair the two shades.

Skinnies-Thrifted
This look wouldn't have been complete without my super favorite riding boots. I wear them with everything. I'm sure I will wear them well into the Spring season so be prepared to be totally sick of them by Springs end.

What's that one piece of clothing in your closet that you just can't get enough of?

I can't wait to hear from you.

Trendy Tuesday: Lace It Up

Happy Tuesday my loves....

It's my most FAVORITE day of the blog week and I'm here to bring you another slamming edition of Trendy Tuesday.

This week is all about lace....

Very fitting because I was just recently reading an editorial in Lucky Magazine which highlighted this as being one of Spring's hottest trends. In addition, one of my blogger buddies, Marion, from MarionBerryStyle, is hosting a Trend of the Month Challenge tomorrow where she will be highlighting all things sexy and lacy. You should definitely go link up.

Seeing as how I've recently purchased several lace dresses from Target's clearance racks, I can't wait to rock this trend.

Savin' Maven Monday: DIY Polka Dot Sneakers...

I IMMEDIATELY fell in love with these shoes when I saw Eboni from

The Fashionista Next Door

style them here....

Keds $45

Thrifty and Shamlessly speaking, I really didn't wanna pay that much for them so I was super excited when I saw these blue Mossimo sneakers on clearance for $3.88.

This is another one of those easy peasy DIY projects that takes no more than 5 minutes to create.

Here's what you will need:

~Mossimo Canvas Sneakers ($3.88 from Target)
~Craft Paint
~These round stick thingies that came with my DIY Picture Frames.
~Newspaper

That's it. You're ready to begin.

Before I even started I balled up 2 large pieces of newspaper and stuffed one in each shoe. This provided be  with more of a smooth surface.

STEP 1: Take one of the round stick thingies and dip it in the acrylic paint...

Make sure the tip is fully covered...

STEP 2: Begin dotting. Again there no rhyme nor reason as to how I placed the dots on the shoe. This is how the shoe looked after I dotted half of the toe.

STEP 3:  Dot some more and viola...

I thought of doing more of the tan color on the seams but the white is speaking to me.

So I left them like this!!

I can't wait to wear them...

Stay tuned for styling posts to come.

Thanks for reading...

Jewel Tones and Faux Leather...

So lemme just tell you all that this outfit had an extremely high likeliness of NOT making it here on the blog today.

I wore this to a party that my family threw to raise money for our family reunion which is coming up this summer.

It's definitely one of those 'fits that played out better in my head than in reality.

I was super infatuated with these faux leather pants that I scored from Target's clearance rack and I just HAD to wear them-like IMMEDIATELY!!

I figured they would be perfect for the party because clearly I hate bare legs in the winter and I felt like the pants were super sexy-especially for a party, right!?

Faux Leather Pants-Target
So I paired them with my favorite jewel tones-a royal blue NY&Co turtleneck and plum colored Guess booties-and I went.

Because I didn't want to freeze my buns off I even added my $3 faux leather vest for good measure.

I topped that off with my faux fur.....

And if you can't tell by my above facial expressions....

I hated every moment of it!!!

It was just too much for one outfit.

But I do love the backdrop!!

Faux Leather Vest-Walmart | Booties-Guess (via TJ Maxx)

This outfit further reminded me that this blog is not only just for me but also for my readers. And though I may not be in love with every outfit that I wear, it's important for me to keep it real and not just display the pieces that look great on me but also the bad and ugly stuff in between. Who knows...by some miracle of chance this may serve as inspiration for someone. But I will let you all be the judge of that.

Thanks so much for listening (or reading rather) to my random outfit tribulation.

I can't wait to see your thoughts on this spectacle.

XOXOXOXOXO

Trendy Tuesday: Mad for Metallics

Happy Tuesday my loves.

I hope every one's day is off to a great start. It's my favorite day of the blog week and that means more Trendy Tuesday shenanigans.

This week I'm talking all things metallic.

When I saw these metallic pumps in Target I died. Then I remembered that I had thrifted a pair a couple of years ago waayyyy before they were on trend. They've been sitting in the trunk of my car waiting for new taps. Needless to say I will definitely be pairing them with some beautiful items similar to these...

Savin' Maven Monday: DIY Jeweled Heels

Happy Monday my loves.

I hope everyone had an amazing weekend. Mine was actually very productive. I was able to post some new things in my boutique, Miss Rockwells Racks, as well as work on a DIY project that I've had saved in my Pinterest folder for a while.

When I found these jeweled heels (originally pinned from Boss Chicks) I immediately died.

I knew I had to recreate. And that I did.

Here's what I used to create my very own.

**Colored Pumps (on clearance for $9 from Target)
**Assorted Acrylic Jewels
**Glue Gun

That's it.

Let me first warn you that these pictures are crap with a capital C! I had to take them with my phone because my honey and I swapped the big boy camera for the weekend so he could get some filming done.

Anyhow these are the jewels that I decided to use.

There really was no rhyme or reason to that went into the design process here. I totally winged it and the shoes came out like so....

This was by far thee easiest DIY ever.

Just pick out the jewels.Glue.And wait for them to dry.

I'm actually in love with how they turned out. These pics don't do the shoes any justice at all but you will most definitely get a better view of them when I style them.

Pinterest is hella amazing for giving me so much inspiration. You should totally follow me.

And stay tuned for more super easy and frugal DIY projects.

Thanks for reading!

Friday Favorites: Vol #29

Hello and Happy Friday to you my loves. It's been such a while since I've done Friday Favorites here on the blog. It started out as a weekly feature, however, I've indefinitely decided to do it on a monthly basis.

If you're a first time visitor here, Friday Favorites is just a round up of some of my favorite things that I've captured with my smartphone.

Here goes.

This pearl bow necklace is my all time favorite. I've worn it sooo much since purchasing it from Wet Seal a couple of years ago. I love when they have their B1G1 for a penny accessory sales.

Currently swooning over these Target dresses in addition to the remainder of their Spring collection. It's to die for!!

This amazing skeleton sweatshirt I found at Walmart for $1. Great pieces can obviously be purchased anywhere. And even though the skeleton has a Christmas hat on, I will definitely be styling this sucker during the upcoming cool Spring nights.

OMG. I'm not sure if you all are following my FB page but I posted about this deal there. On President's Day, Value City Furniture was giving away FREE $25 gift cards!! How sweet is that!? If you're not following me, please go NOW so you can stay updated on all great deals and FREEBIES.

I got this book from the library to help me with my taxes. I got a similar book last year and completed my 2011 return all by myself. Why would I pay someone else to do it when I can do it along. Clearly the info has been placed in the book for a reason.

Goodies from Goodwill.

Giving myself an at home pedi to cut the cost of having to go to the nail shop.

Weekend DIY projects. View my latest denim patch TShirt in this post.

This month's mag swag. All of these mags were absolutely FREE. Again, follow my FB page (link located in the right sidebar) for updates on the great deals.

Spending a whole weekend celebrating my girlfriends bday. I love me some her.

These Arturo Chiang riding boots that I keep obsessing over.

Date nights with my honey are always a plus. We saw the movie Snitch with The Rock and as fine as he was (The Rock) we only gave it a 7.5/10 rating tough.

Details from my 'Just Me and Proenza' outfit post. I'm such a sucker for good deets.

Last but not least, some of the items that have sold from my online boutique, Miss Rockwells Racks. Please go over and visit as I post new things each week. You may also get first dibs on the new items by following my Instagram page.

I love great selling weeks. The PO workers officially know my name now!!

What were some of your favorite things this week?

I can't wait to hear from you.

Thanks for reading.
XOXOXOXOXO
