Savin' Maven Monday: The Wonderful World of Couponing

Happy Monday my loves!

I hope all of you had a great weekend.

I spent a majority of my weekend resting and relaxing-no major events or outings for me.

The honey and I have some fun events coming up beginning this weekend and I can't wait!

If you've been reading for a while then you know how much of a couponer I am. While relaxing, I decided to go through my stash and clip some savings.

For any of you interested in delving into the wonderful world of couponing, should I first warn you that this is NOT the task for you if you don't have an abundance of patience.

It took me well over an hour to clip and sort 3 weeks worth of coupons...

And then place them into my binder....

They are all sorted by type of coupon (ie-frozen food, makeup, cleaning products) and placed into baseball card inserts for easy access and visibility.

The initial organization process is time consuming, however, this method saves tons of time when you're browsing the aisles of the grocery store.

I got this binder for 1 buck from the thrift store and lemme tell you-it's the best dollar I've ever invested!

Inside of the binder there are several compartments for me to place coupon policies, a calculator and notepad (for tallying my expenses), and other coupons that wouldn't fit into the inserts.

Like these...

I will not....

Lemme repeat that...

I WILL NOT shop without a coupon.

Unless it's something that I absolutely HAVE to have, I'm always with savings.

Even when the honey and I plan dinner dates, I scour my binder to see what coupons I have first. Currently I have Red Lobster, Ruby Tuesday, and Outback Steakhouse coupons so those are spots we will be visiting over our next couple of date nights.

In the fast food arena, I have lots of coupons for Hardees; also Subway is holding a BOGO FREE special for the month of October so I will be frequenting those two places if I need food on the fly.

I also love that most of my favorite stores like Old Navy, New York & Company, and Bath & Body Works keep me loaded with coupons. They know how to keep a customer happy and coming back for more.

What is your method for saving while shopping?

I can't wait to hear from you!

  2. I so gave up the first time! I need to really sit down and put everything together! I watched the videos/read the blogs, but I think I need a notebook similar to what you have. The regular binder just doesn't get it. Then I need tips on when to use the coupons, please help me, lol!
