Savin' Maven Monday: DIY Refurbished Prom Jewelry

Happy Monday my loves.

I hope every one has had a great weekend.

Mine was pretty productive; on Saturday, I spent most the day with my lovely goddaughter and on Sunday I visited the honey and was greeted with dinner, a movie, and a clean house.
My first thought was 'Oh gosh, he must want something!?'
I know, that's sad right!!

Atop of all that I was able to fit in a fairly quick and easy DIY project.

As I was attempting to finish organizing my accessories, I came across my old prom jewelry. For some reason, I was still not able to part with it, even though it's clearly more than 10 years old. Clearly, I know I'm not going to get anymore use out of it, but still, I wanted to keep it.

So I decided to refurbish it.

How you ask!?

I painted it!

With fingernail polish!!!!

Amazing, right?

Here's how.

Alls you need is some of your favorite colored polish and you're ready to roll.

I used 2 of my Sinful Colors shades that I picked up while they were 99 cents at Walgreens.

I began with the bracelet. I didn't want the whole thing to be orange so I did every other diamond (cubic zirconium).

Since I don't want it to look too prom-esque, I filled in the uncolored spaces with a muted gray shade (not pictured)

I did the same thing with the earrings, using blue as my base color instead of the orange.

You may or may not want to use a top coat-just like you would with your nails, it's totally up to you.

Now I have all new accessories to add to my collection!

How exciting is that!?

So exciting that I didn't even get around to finishing the other pair of earrings that you saw pictured.

What do you think?

And how do you refurbish your old jewelry?

I can't wait to hear from you!

Thanks for reading!

XOXOXOXO
