Nowhere To Go...

Good day loves and Happy Thursday.
I hope your week is going great thus far.

Mine is actually moving along rather quickly and I'm so ecstatic about it! On my last outfit post I posed a question asking if you thought some fashion bloggers just played dress-up for the camera or if they really had somewhere special they were going each day. Do they really wear 4" stilettos and skinnies to work? Mini skirts and pumps to the grocery store? I don't know, I just think that's reaching a little far. I mean I love dressing up and being girly but some days a 'dress down' break is needed.

In all honesty, that's usually a lot of days for me. LOL. But when I do get dressed to go out, I'm usually donning something like this.

Vest-Miley to the Maxx via Wal-Mart
Not super duper girly, a little rough around the edges-but comfortable-and above all else, it's ME! I wore this 'fit to my girlfriends' birthday dinner.

As I was getting dressed I began to think about the numerous bloggers that I visit who always look so great each day. I wondered where they go, especially those who work from home. Like, what are they getting all dazzled up for-lunch break or a play date with the camera?

For those who don't work from home, I wonder what their job titles are. And how great it must be to have a dress code with no boundaries.
 Hmmmm....

I'm just saying....

If you really have nowhere to go...

and your only purpose for getting all dressed up is to have a 'photoshoot' date with the camera...how can you really be considered a 'fashion blogger'? Isn't that false advertisement?

Does that make any sense?

I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for reading.
XOXOXO

  1. Such an interesting question to pose! I've wondered the exact same thing, so I'll be curious what your readers say. Personally, my photos are taken at the beginning or the end of the day. My blog features clothes I actually wear...which may end up not being as glamorous or "perfect" as some, but I think I'm ok with that. Like you said above, it's "me!"
    Love your blouse btw...very pretty!

    1. I agree. My clothing is not perfect but its real-meaning its actually being worn somewhere besides in front of the camera. I'm excited to see the responses as well.

  2. I think a lot of fashion bloggers do get dressed up just for the sake of taking pictures, but I don't see that as a bad thing! As a reader, I love seeing their outfits and it inspires me to piece my wardrobe together in new ways. I don't think there's any way to "fake" fashion - if you've got it on your blog, even if it's a posed photo shoot, it's no less fashion than if you're truly that fabulously dressed during your day-to-day life.

  3. I totally agree. I wasn't exactly saying that it was a bad thing; just my thoughts and more of a discussion piece to see how everyone else felt about it.

  6. That's a very interesting question to consider. I'm usually quite overdressed & out there where ever I go in my personal life, but I think it's because I'm always wearing a uniform for my job so it's a huge treat to get dressed up on weekends! A interesting note for me though - I tend to wear heels more if I don't really have to go anywhere or do anything, because I love the way they look but I'm horrible at walking in them!

P.S. I love your outfit! I think it strikes a perfect balance between comfort & style.

    1. That's exactly how I feel. I love to dress up and most times when I go out there's always someone who's more 'dressed up' than I am.
