Transition Outfit...

Happy Thursday lovelies!!!

We are one step closer to the weekend. I have some extremely exciting things going on with my family and friends over the weekend and I can't wait to share with you all next week. Please stay tuned. 

In this weeks 'How To Wear' post, I discussed one of my favorite trends to date-denim vests! As I was finishing the post I thought to myself, "Self, how fitting would it be to share how I style my own denim vest?" 

So here you have it...

In an attempt to provide more fluidity on my blog I think I will begin to center my outfit posts around my Trendy Tuesday-How To Wear posts in order to give a uber budget friendly, realistic view of how I style some of my favorite trends.

I love this particular outfit because it transitions so easily from day to night with the simple switch of a shoe.

Here, wearing a classic and neutral pair of thong sandals, I am ready for a casual lunch or shopping date with the girls....

While here, switching the thong sandals out for a bold colored T-strap wedge, I am ready for date night with the honey.

This denim vest is one of my go to layering items. It was originally a jacket before I cut the sleeves at the seams to create this versatile number.

The sequined shoulder tee and white skinnies looked very simple and basic without the addition of the vest which gave a layer of personality to the whole outfit. Sequins give me so much life and I totally had to snatch this baby up when I found it for only $4 at a Plato's Closet clearance sale-with the tags still attached!!

The pop of color in the wedges added just the right amount of pizazz that I needed. Anyone who knows me well, is fully aware that great shoes are my specialty. I live for them-especially when they are part of a B1G1 FREE sale.

Trendy Tuesday: Sneaker Wedges

Happy Tuesday my loves...

I hope every one had a nice, long weekend.

Mine was great! I spent most of my Sunday at a huge family cookout where I was able to introduce my honey to more of my crazy and insane family members and we spent Labor Day at Kings Dominion. I never knew just how expensive theme parks were-GEESH!! Thankfully I was able to get a great deal on the tickets through Groupon-they were two for the price of one. I'm equally thankful that the park was not crowded AT ALL. We were able to get on all of the roller coasters without standing in horrendously long lines. Great fun!

Anyhow today's highlight for Trendy Tuesday is nothing other than this....

  Sneaker Wedges... by sherockwell featuring suede wedges

I'm sure that by now this trend has invaded every form of social media that you own! And I'm just not sure about it. I'm still on the fence.

Since I'm not much of a sneaker head, I think I would wear them on days when I want to look fashionable and cute without wearing heels and being totally dressed up-sorta like how you would wear a pair of combat boots.

Just visualizing an outfit to pair these with, I have now jumped off of the fence and convinced myself that I need these in my life. The all black pair in the bottom left corner are sold here for $29.99 and that's not so bad.

Trendy Tuesday: 5 Summer Wardrobe Essentials

Happy Tuesday lovelies.  I hope every one's day has gotten off to a fabulous start!! It's my favorite day of the 'blog week'-Trendy Tuesday. This week I wanted to do something a little different so I composed a list of my favorite trends and put them all in one set. Often when getting dressed, I tend to only capitalize on wearing one trend that will essentially speak for the whole outfit. But then I thought, what would happen-or rather, what would it look like if I put all of my favorite trends together in one outfit? Something like this I suppose...

5 Summer Wardrobe Essentials... by sherockwell featuring a lace blouse

 Take the statement necklace-that piece speaks for itself and is usually the centerpiece of any outfit but how about pairing it with a solid color peplum top and minty pants. Put some wedges on your feet and carry along a chambray top; that could double as a cardigan for those cold restaurant or movie dates. The chambray has to be my absolute favorite just because it's so interchangeable. Take away the peplum, add the chambray, and you have created a totally different and subtle look that incorporates all (well most) of this seasons' hottest trends. If you were planning a fashion event and you could only choose 5 of your favorite trends, which ones would you pick? How would you style them? I can't wait to hear your thoughts.Thanks for reading...XOXOXOXOXO

 



Trendy Tuesday: Wedge City

Hello and Happy Tuesday my loves!!!

I hope your day is going well thus far. I know that I'm a little late in posting but better late than never, right!?

You all know just how much I love Trendy Tuesday. It's one of my most favorite features of the blog and I get so excited to post each week because it allows me a chance to really tap into my creative, artistic side.

Today, well this week rather....no lemme rephrase that-for the past couple of years I've really been coveting wedges. It's seems like now they're more popular than ever and I can see exactly why.

Here are the reasons why I die for them and find them so irresistible...

***They're comfy-no matter how tall or uncomfortable the heel may appear, the platform portion provides a level of comfort that can't be compared to the most worn flat shoe in your closet.

***They make your legs look extremely long-enough said! Who doesn't want long legs!!??

***They're classic- I'm not sure that wedges ever went out of style and I'm not certain that they ever will. I personally am a faithful purchaser of the wedge.

***They're hella easy to style-it doesn't matter if you rock 'em with shorts, skirts, dresses, or pants-you're guaranteed to turn heads.
