Transition Outfit...

Happy Thursday lovelies!!!

We are one step closer to the weekend. I have some extremely exciting things going on with my family and friends over the weekend and I can't wait to share with you all next week. Please stay tuned.

In this weeks 'How To Wear' post, I discussed one of my favorite trends to date-denim vests! As I was finishing the post I thought to myself, "Self, how fitting would it be to share how I style my own denim vest?"

So here you have it...

In an attempt to provide more fluidity on my blog I think I will begin to center my outfit posts around my Trendy Tuesday-How To Wear posts in order to give a uber budget friendly, realistic view of how I style some of my favorite trends.

I love this particular outfit because it transitions so easily from day to night with the simple switch of a shoe.

Here, wearing a classic and neutral pair of thong sandals, I am ready for a casual lunch or shopping date with the girls....

While here, switching the thong sandals out for a bold colored T-strap wedge, I am ready for date night with the honey.

This denim vest is one of my go to layering items. It was originally a jacket before I cut the sleeves at the seams to create this versatile number.

The sequined shoulder tee and white skinnies looked very simple and basic without the addition of the vest which gave a layer of personality to the whole outfit. Sequins give me so much life and I totally had to snatch this baby up when I found it for only $4 at a Plato's Closet clearance sale-with the tags still attached!!

The pop of color in the wedges added just the right amount of pizazz that I needed. Anyone who knows me well, is fully aware that great shoes are my specialty. I live for them-especially when they are part of a B1G1 FREE sale.

So tell me, what's your budget friendly way of transitioning your outfits from day to night?

I can't wait to hear from you!

Thanks for reading.
XOXOXOXO

How To Wear: Denim Vests

Hello and Happy Tuesday my loves!

I hope everyone is off to a fabulous start today. I had huge plans of getting up early and going to the gym for some quick cardio but this unforeseen rain is putting a damper on my motivation level (pun intended). Sound like an excuse to me....and yep it probably is. Seriously, I really need to get more disciplined about this whole fitness thing.

For now though, I'll be satisfied with blogging about some of my favorite trends. This week in my 'How To Wear' series, I'm covering one of my absolute faves-the denim vest. You absolutely CAN.NOT go wrong with this piece. The greatest part about this item besides it's obvious versatility is the fact that they are extremely affordable. If you're a huge thrifter like me, you may have been lucky enough to find a great denim jacket on one of your excursions; cut the sleeves off with a seam ripper and there you have a masterpiece.

You can dress these babies up, dress them down, or even do something casual with them like so...How To Wear: Denim VestsHow To Wear: Denim Vests by sherockwell featuring a pointed toe stilettos

They Say Time Flies....Mine is First Class!

Happy Tuesday friends!!! Welcome back from the long weekend! Although it was much needed, I got absolutely NOTHING done...my closet still looks like a tornado hit it and I have yet to organize my things for tax season.  Whew...time sure does know how to fly!!  Nevertheless, I'm going to continue on with life and slowly but surely work towards my goal of organizing my things.  Today is TOP 2 TUESDAY, a feature hosted by my blogger girlfriend over at The Undomestic Momma.  The subject for this week is: 'Top 2 Outfits you're loving for the Spring'. Ohhh man, the possibilities are endless.  I could go on forever about the things I love for spring-it reminds me of this yin yang sign I have tattooed on my hand-its a complete balance of greatness!  It's not overly warm, so you can get away with gorgeous linen pants, yet it's not too cold so you can still wear cutesy dresses and tanks and add layers to them if it gets breezy.  While it was hard to choose, I picked THIS:

Madewell's Spring 2011 Lookbook

(I am a sucker for pairing menswear items with feminine pieces!!!)
and I also chose THIS:

(Even though I don't wear many skirts, I love the look of flowy skirts with subtle detailing and bright colors.)

On to my Color Brigade for the week; I know the pictures are hella old but I don't want my outfit pics to be a total waste, so here goes nothing:

I love, love, love these leopard capri's because they are so versatile! Whoever knew that Walmart would become my one-stop shop!? I could've soooo done without the leopard bag though; maybe a black one would've been better but hey practice makes perfect!

 Thanks for reading!!
