Happy Hump Day loves!

Did everyone have a super romantic Valentine's Day? This is the first year in a long while that it felt like just another day for me. I guess that attitude comes along with getting older and not expecting as much from people. Flowers, cards, and candy are great gestures but I don't feel like those things should be limited to one day. Love, compassion, and romance should be expressed year round. Because if not, then I begin to question the realness of it all.

Enough of the mushy stuff; let's talk about this outfit. 

I wore it a while back to a concert-Marsha Ambrosious to be exact. When going to concerts or any type of event where I will be standing for an extended period of time, I like to take my feet into consideration-that, my friends, is the reason why you have seen me in more flats in alot of my recent outfit posts. I also tried to remind myself of the fact that there wouldn't be any coat storage so I dressed in layers and threw on this thrifted Zara blazer for extra warmth.

'Clatchel'-Old Navy

I threw my hair up in a messy ponytail so that I wouldn't be so hot inside of the venue. Damn trying to be cute, I wanted to be comfortable and enjoy the show. 

This blazer is one of my favorite thrifting finds. I had started to put her back on the rack because I had just thrifted a similar corduroy blazer a couple of weeks before but when I noticed the leather detailing and the elbow patches I held onto this baby for dear life. Classic pieces like these remain in your closet forever and for only $2.98 why NOT!!??

The red glasses are THEE statement piece in this outfit. Not to mention that I can't see 2 feet in front of me without them. I'm not a phony y'all...I really do need them!! They were purchased a while back from GlassesUnlimited where all frames are $9.99. You just fill in your prescription and after taxes and shipping you have yourself a sweet pair of specs for all of 15 bucks.

Needless to say, I was super comfy during the concert and I enjoyed every moment of Marsha.

WOTS: Obnoxiously Frugal...

Hello my loves. 

It is hella early in the morning but I went to bed earlier than usual so now I'm wide-eyed, looking real simple! Then....I realized that I hadn't done my Wednesday post so I figured what the hell!?

I was browsing through my reading list trying to find some inspiration and I stumbled across this post over at Cheapalicious.  She always lists some really FAB deals and here lately she began a

$50/month shopping budget challenge. I immediately had to commend her because trying to stick with spending only $50 in one whole month is like speaking a foreign language to me. The best I can do is make sure that everything I buy is either thrifted, on clearance, or purchased with coupons (on double coupon days of course).

I've never been the type of chick to spend lots of money on clothing-or anything else for that matter. Name brands and labels don't impress me. They don't make me feel any type of way. As a matter of fact, if I ever spent $500 on a bag or a pair of shoes I would slap the ish out of myself, immediately return the worthless item to the store and demand a refund. Hello Lovelies...

I was browsing back through my posts and I noticed that it's been quite a while since I had done an outfit post so here goes. 

I wore this amazing tartan blazer to church a couple of weeks ago....and oh yeah, I wore the jeans as well!!

I love that my church literally allows you to 'come as you are' however some females take full advantage of that and go all the way overboard with it. I'm talking mini skirts and 'stripper' shoes. I feel like that's flat out disrespectful and it burns me up on the inside...but hey to each his own. Nobody cares about how I feel when they get dressed in the morning.  It is however, apparent to me that they obviously lack class and couth! LOL 

Not that my goal is to be super sexy at church-I'm just saying-I think you can emit a certain amount of class and appeal without having to wear the highest of the high heels or the tightest, most revealing of the 'fits in your wardrobe.

and yes...that is a cuff because my pants are entirely too long. I usually like for my pants to casually fall over my heel, but these flared NY & Co slacks fell waaaay over my whole shoe and made me appear as if I was walking around on stilts. So...I cuffed them!

This little 'clatchel', because it's too small to be a handbag yet it has a strap so it can't be considered as a clutch, is quickly becoming one of my go-to pieces. Hey listen, if anyone from Old Navy's marketing team happens to be reading this could you please let me know the correct term to use for this cutie pah-tutie! Because I'm obviously clueless!!

WOTS: Monochromatic Flair...

Morning lovelies. 

Are you tired of Christmas food and candy canes yet?

I think I will be officially fed up with it in exactly one more day. LOL.

(I do love the sales though; as a matter of fact, I've been out every day since Christmas trying to get some good deals while purchasing next year's Christmas gifts!)

On another note, I've always shied away from the monochromatic color palate because I love bold pops of color but this Christmas I was feeling a bit mellow and decided to try some grey on grey on grey.  I was actually surprised that my greys matched so perfectly.

Since I absolutely couldn't stand to stay away from some type of color, I added this patterned pussybow blouse underneath all the grey.

I even tried to do something a little festive with my nails.

I had the hardest time trying to figure out what type of shoes to pair with this 'fit-red or black? Theenn, I remembered these grey boots that I purchased on clearance last year and I put them on immediately. They are quite a differing shade of grey but THEY.WORK!

I wish you could see the cute little flower/bow that they have on the side of them.

WOTS: Holiday Shopping-The OfficeSpace Edition

Getting appropriate gifts for coworkers during the holiday season can be a little tricky. 

What do they like? What will they use? Will this be enough?

These are all questions I've pondered before deciding to go with something everyone loves during the holidays...sweet treats!!

To start my coworker's gifts, I purchased the 'Happy Holiday' cards (pictured above) from Target's Dollar Spot.

Then, I typed this nice holiday quote onto red paper and cut them into tiny squares....like so...

I used a glue stick and attached the 'quote labels' onto the inside of the card. 

You may glue the labels in or just place them in. Whatever your preference...

I used these little foam stickers (purchased from the Dollar Store) to seal the cards.

Very HallMark-esque, huh!?

Now...for my sweet treats.

I like to call them 'Thin Mints'.  I originally saw Paula Deen make these from scratch on her show but seeing as how I didn't have the time nor the patience, I just purchased some Chips Ahoy from Wally World. These ingredients cost me about 8 bucks.

You begin by crushing the peppermint into a closed ziplock bag.

Until they look like this...

Then, melt your white chocolate chips. This was thee most tedious step in the whole process. I never knew how hard it was to melt white chocolate. I clearly felt like the biggest idiot on earth. I mean how in the hell do you not know how to melt chocolate!? 

Don't judge me...mkay!?

Next, dip your Chips Ahoy, one by one, into the melted chocolate and then into the crushed peppermint.  You may dip as much of the cookie as you would like. I chose to dip half. This is how they looked when finished.

To package my 'Thin Mints', I purchased treat bags from Target's Dollar Spot and I printed these labels from MarthaStewarts website. 

Attach the labels, and viola! Cute, festive, and scrumptiously sweet! All for under $10. 

I was able to make 20 gift bags with the ingredients that I used and I still have over half of the second pack of Chips Ahoy left over.
