Friday Favorites: Vol #27

Hello my loves and Happy Friday!

I couldn't wait to share my faves with you this week as there as soooo many!!!

If you're not in the mood for heavy pictoral interpretations, then I suggest that you quickly exit out of this post because I'm liable to get on your nerves.

The highlight of my favorites was traveling to DC with my honey for an NBA game...

FREE tickets!


The energy was incredible...


And the cheerleaders were even better!


I wore my fave faux leather leggings and combat boots. I really don't see how celebs can walk around at games in 5" heels-I can't! I guess that's why I'm not a celebrity, huh?


Our room was so beautiful...


And we drank this...please try this, it's thee best drink you will ever taste in your life. My honey and I named it 'Fruit Punch'!


Self-portraits!  I loved this outfit, especially these Coach sneakers, which hurt my feet like hell! Sadly so, I'm going to have to put them in the shop because I can't deal with them. 


Before we headed back, we ate at Johnny Rockets. It was our first time there and we loved these little smileys!!


OK! OK! Enough about the trip. 

I finally launched my official shop site, Miss Rockwells Racks, last weekend. 


FREE Magazines...that I'm sooooo behind at reading. 


Clipping coupons. There really aren't a lot of good ones out but I'm gonna make it work!


These riding boots that I found at Dillards during their huge New Years Day Clearance sale..I love them so much!


I'm such a Momma's girl! Yep, I love hanging out with my Mom-she's my best friend!!!


Really Target...you have GOT to stop doing this to me! I'm going INSANE!!




A couple of shopping trips that only cost me approximately 4 bucks...gotta love coupons!


I'm so sad that I didn't get to shoot pics in this outfit because this dress is magical!


 Celebrating Michelle Obama's Bday. She is so fierce and classy. And her sense of style is out of this world!

Oh Sweet Saturday!!! 

How I love thee. For a blogger like myself you are so good to me. I rest on you, I thrift on you, and I do a majority of my other shopping on you. One thing I don't do on you though is blog posts. I have gotten into a pretty regular routine of posting 3-4 times a week, never on the weekend though. That's my time off to regroup and visit other lovely blogs.

However, since I made it into this weeks Links A La Mode 'it' list over on the Independent Fashion Bloggers site, I figured I would do a quick post  to share with my lovely readers a few awesome links that were posted in the blogosphere this past week.

Awkward and Awesome: It's Not All In Vain

AWKWARD

-The fact that it's still in the 90-something degrees outside at 11PM. WTH!?

-Having an 8AM class on Saturday mornings. Why me!? I just want to sleep. Who in their right mind would do some foolishness like this!?

-Not being in DC this weekend. My girls are gone. My boo is gone. And I know that they are having loads of fun. Ughhh, I'm jealous.

-Seeing people that I know in the thrift store. That bothers me because they try to hold conversations and stuff when I really don't feel like it. I just want to get to the next aisle. Please and Thank You!

AWESOME

-Being featured on DistinctStyleInnovation for this week's Wear*It Wednesday segment. Check out how we rock our wedges and also read about how you can be featured in upcoming posts.

-Being kissed on the forehead by my favorite guy. That makes me feel sooo giddy inside!

-A preview of my DIY manicure. Get your pretty manicures ready ladies because in 2 weeks, on August 12, I will be hosting FBFF- a collaborative forum initially started by Katy from ModlyChic. On that very day, I would love for each and every one of  you to link up and share your DIY manicures with me. Pretty please! I've seen some pretty creative ideas floating around the 'net thus far so I wanna see what 'cha got!

-Patiently awaiting LaurieAnn Gibson's 'Born To Dance' sitcom that premieres on BET next Tuesday. I love reality dance shows-not as much as I love Project Runway though.

-Being featured on this week's  Links a la Mode roundup on the IndependentFashionBloggers site. To some this may be minuscule but it's a huge accomplishment for me. It keeps me grounded and inspires me to press on. I love to write and this just lets me know that my efforts are not in vain.


Whether we realize it or not, we are all influenced by something, whether it be celebrities, trends or designs of the past. This week’s links a la mode celebrates influencers and the voices we create from our inspiration. As fashion bloggers, we have each other to look for when we are feeling uninspired and this community is something we should never take for granted!

Awkward and Awesome: I'm Feeling Good...This is The Best Week of My Life

AWKWARD

-Don't rude people bother you?

-Being stuck in the house on a Friday doing homework. What type of crap is that?

-DMV-the Department of Motor Vehicles. I went to get my license renewed this week and they told me that I had to have a birth certificate to prove that I'm a US citizen. C'mon....are you serious. Like WTF!? Doesn't my 'soon to expire' license do a good enough job of proving that I'm a freaking resident. That's a load of bull.

-Going back to DMV after a 3 day long search for my birth certificate only for them to tell me that my license renewal would be $32! Confuse me...WHAT!? Since when...who approved this...for WHHYY? I remember when things like this used to be free. My goodness, by the time I have kids old enough to drive, there's gonna be an entry fee just to get into the damn DMV!
 How do you feel about the DMV in your hometown?

 
-Men. And how they are sometimes, most times more moody than us. Ugghhh, the nerve of them to call us emotional.

Tattoos being unacceptable within the work environment. (Extensive details to follow in a later post)

AWESOME

-Having an interview on Monday. Getting a call back on Tuesday. Signing my new contract on Wednesday. This has to be thee best week of my life. God is soooo good.

-My bestie is in town. Ahhhhhh....Can't wait for a shopping spree! Yayyy!!!

-Crackle nail polish is the ish. How many of you agree? I keep looking down at my nails in complete awe of the added effect of the 'crackle'!

-Being featured on NoGuiltFashion for Danie's What They Wore Wednesday segment. Check out how we rocked our rompers and jumpsuits.
