Savin' Maven Monday: No Fire S'mores

Happy Monday my loves!!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend and is off to a great start today. My weekend was pretty productive; I was finally able to sit down with my family and get invitations made out for my upcoming baby shower-that literally took all night and I'm still not even finished yet.

Before I get into my post, I would like to give a special 'Thank You' to all of those who have served or are currently serving our country-your fight for our continued freedom is very much appreciated.

I had recently taken a huge break from blogging in order to focus on preparing for my lil man but blogging just wouldn't escape from my mind. Though my posts probably won't be as regular as they used to be, I still wanted to make sure that I dropped in every now and again if for no other reason than to keep my writing skills fresh.

So today, I'm bringing you a quick and easy recipe that I've been craving lately.

No Fire S'mores!!!

Now, I looovvveee s'mores, however, I don't have a fireplace nor am I much of a camper so I had to find the easiest way to create this delightful snack without the use of the aforementioned things. So here's what an economically resourceful gal uses to make s'mores at home.

(All of these things were purchased while couponing, by the way!!)

As you may have noticed from previous recipes, I don't do measurements. I just use the ingredients as my heart desires. Here, I poured into a small cereal bowl a decent amount of marshmallows, approximately a tablespoon (or larger) scoop of butter, and milk chocolate morsels. You would obviously use more or less of the ingredients depending on the serving size you desire.

Place bowl and ingredients in the microwave for about 40 seconds-stopping every 20 seconds to mix and stir.

The consistency of your mixture should look like this when fully nuked...

Add your desired amount of Golden Grahams and stir, making sure to evenly coat all of the cereal.

You can eat these warm or you can place them in the fridge and indulge later.

Whatever you do though, don't leave them sitting on the counter!!!!

What do you think?

Are you all going to try this recipe in the near or distant future?

I can't wait to hear from you!!

OHHHH....one thing before I go.

Don't forget to enter my $25 Target gift card giveaway going on right now until the end of the week. It's super easy to enter-just visit this post!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Savin' Maven Monday: DIY Lifeway Kefir Parfait

***I received this product complimentary to test through Influenster's Vox Box Program***

Happy Monday my loves.

I hope each of you had a very great and prosperous weekend. Mine was actually a good mix of rest and productivity. I was finally able to get a few things done around my house, snap some OOTD pics for the week, and my favorite part was going shopping for this all new Lifeway Kefir product that I was able to try compliments of Influenster.

I've never eaten Kefir before, let alone even heard of it. I assumed it was some type of tofu or some other sort of gross organic product that I would regret agreeing to sample. Needless to say, I was very pleased when I went into my local Harris Teeter and saw that it was a smoothie type concoction.

Being that I'm attempting to eat a little better, I knew immediately what I would do with the product. At first I was thinking that I would make a yummy smoothie but then I decided against that and figured I would try my hand at making a parfait.

Upon tasting the product, I fell ALL.THE.WAY in love. Its yogurt like consistency made perfect for my idea of parfait.

Since this was my very first time making a parfait, there was no rhyme or reason as to the exact measurements of the ingredients. I just poured about 1/4 cup of Kefir into a huge wine glass, added some fresh bananas and strawberries, and instead of granola, I topped everything with Special K corn flakes cereal.

Talk about the most delicious thing I've ever tasted. I can't wait to make more for snack time. I'm hooked!

What kind of recipes have you tried lately?

I can't wait to hear from you!
Thanks for reading.
XOXOXOXOXO

Friday Favorites: Vol #32

Hello and happy Friday my dears.

I hope you all are off to a fabulous start. We have made it to the end of the week and I couldn't be more excited. In an effort to get my home and my shop more organized while I have a few more weeks off of work, I've been totally neglecting my Friday Favorites posts.

NO LONGER will that fly!!

With that being said, here are some of my favorite moments over the past couple of days, weeks, and probably months!!!

THIS...is going down on Monday. I can hardly contain myself!!!

Coupons are my favorite. Seriously they are the equivalent of FREE money. And who doesn't like FREE. I sure as hell do.

Spending time with my goddaughter is so great and it gives me awesome practice in preparation of my little Peanut. She means the world to me! I can't believe how big she has gotten. It seems like only yesterday I was at the hospital swaddling her in a receiving blanket.

This makeshift shoe rack that I found while thrifting. I had been searching all over for something sturdy enough to hold all of the shoes I've acquired for my shop. This was perfect at a price point of $9.

Speaking of thrifting, I was able to visit a ton of Goodwill shops while I was vacationing in South Carolina a few weeks ago. Their selection was amazing too-every piece that I laid my hands on was a popular name brand.

Yummy breakfast-turkey sausage, egg, and cheese wraps with buttery blueberry muffins!!

Some great fireworks that I was able to capture on Fourth of July! They were so beautiful!

Studying style...my current library reads. I'm thee biggest bookworm in America. I have a full home library but still manage to check out books from my local library. There are so many great resources there.

These gorgeous Sam & Libby wedges that I found at Target. Someone had returned them from an online purchase so I was able to score them for 9 bucks. What a steal considering that the line has yet to be marked down.

I'm patiently awaiting this FEED line at Target to be marked down soon. I'm totally swooning over this denim vest but I just can't fathom paying $30 for it right now.

Another Target find was these Prabal Gurung sandals that I found when they were marked down. So glad I was able to get them. They are super sexy. I can't wait to post the full outfit for you all. Stay tuned.

$2 Polo shirts are a MUST. These things retail for above $60!!! Major score.

Last but not least, this AH MAY ZING bubble necklace that I found at Dillards the other day. The deal was that all clearance accessories were an additional 40% for cardholders. The clearance tag read $20 which would make this baby only $12 after my 40%. Quite a deal considering these necklaces run about 30 bucks elsewhere. Well, would you believe that I only ended up paying $8 for it due to a glitch in their computer system. The manager was oh so nice and took an additional, additional 40% off of the $20 due to the inconvenience of me having to wait. SWEET!!

So tell me, what are some of your favorites from this past week (or month)?

I can't wait to hear from you.
Thanks for reading!
XOXOXOXO

Friday Favorites: Vol #30

Hellooooooo and Happy Friday my loves.

I know I haven't been here in over a week but I really just wanted to take some time off to enjoy my   Spring Break without the stress of remembering to post and whatnot.

Had I planned my break correctly I would've had some guest bloggers or even scheduled my posts ahead of time. But....I'm human and obviously not that well organized so here I am-somewhat refreshed and renewed.

And here are my Friday Favorites!

I've been coveting this whole ear cuff trend since it first surfaced so in my true 'thrifty and shameless' fashion, I was able to find them in The Icing on a $2 accessory rack. I absolutely love this store and most times it's the only store I will purchase accessories from-especially when they have their $2 specials.

FREE paint samples from Ace Hardware. They offer these freebies a couple of times a year and each time I'm the first in line. I've been able to acquire 4 quarts to date-that's enough to get started on the DIY Chevron accent wall that I've been dying to complete since I moved into my home.

The Prabal Gurung line that all the fashionistas went crazy over when it made its debut at Target in February. Well, it's finally being clearanced. Annnd, there's still a ton of items left. I'm patiently waiting for the items to go to 70% off.

I did purchase these babies at 50% off though. I absolutely had to have these. I have so many great styling ideas for them.

Celebrating my big sister's birthday in style. I love this woman so much. She's so smart, beautiful, and hilarious too!

I took a mini roadtrip with my family a couple of days ago and this is the plate that I was presented for lunch. Note that I said 'for lunch'. I believe the name of the eatery was Mayflower. All of this for only 9 bucks. I'm sure this can't be healthy but it was soooo delish!!

While visiting the mall during our roadtrip, I decided to visit Sephora to take advantage of the FREE $5 giftcard that I was given for being a user of the Wrapp app.
Wrapp is a fun and easy way to give free and paid gift cards to your Facebook friends. Download Wrapp's smartphone app or visit www.wrapp.com to start giving!

This month's magazine swag.

I was asked by my friends over at Crowdtap to hunt for the new DOT by Marc Jacobs fragrance bottle while I was on my roadtrip. I love the packaging of this bottle-the presentation alone entices me to pull out my wallet and buy!

The search for the above fragrance inspired me to rock dots during my roadtrip.

Last but not least, I've added new items to my shop, Miss Rockwells Racks. You can visit here or you can visit and follow my shop on Instagram to get first dibs on all the new items that are added.

That's it for today. What were some of you favorite things this week?

I can't wait to hear from you!

Thanks so much for being faithful readers-even when I take a week off without notice! You guys are more than amazing!!
XOXOXOXOXO

Friday Favorites...Vol #11

Hello loves...this is the first time in a while that I feel like the week has passed by entirely too fast!

Of course that's only because I have been off for a whole week... so why wouldn't the days fly by!?

Anyhow, here is my week in pictures...

ENJOY!

1. Strawberry Margarita Gelati from Rita's...YUM! 2. Bacon Cheeseburger with all the toppings from Five Guys...Double YUM!! 3. I finally finished A Cold Piece of Work-it's only been 3 weeks since I checked it out from the library. That's horrible for me! I can usually read a book in about a week-tops! 4. Dollar Tree Beauty Products-I had to do it! 5. It's Tax Time-I finally finished mine this morning! 6. A Banana Pudding Cupcake from Divine Creations-triple YUM!!! 7. A cool chalkboard I saw while in DC. The question at the top asked "If you could be anything, what would you be?" 8. Someones answer was 'A Virginia Resident'. I thought that was hella fancy seeing as how I'm a Virginian. 9. Various sightings while in DC-my favorite was the First Lady's exhibit; she's such a diva! 10. Finally, my new blog banner-I love it! What do you think?

What were some of your favorite things this week?
Do share...
