I'm Having A Bad Hair Day...

Hey my loves...

I'm gonna get straight to the point....

I'm having a bad hair day!

So I did this...

I hate those moments in between washings when my hair gets all greasy and heavy-I would much rather prefer light and flowy!

However this skully, given to me by my nephew, helped me avoid having to stand in the mirror for hours trying to figure out what to do with my hair.

I just plopped it atop my head and out the door I went!

Luckily, it was a perfect match for this layered look.

Did I mention that I love this type of weather because the ability to layer in the cooler months is my motivation for getting dressed.

And the chambray combined with this thrifted denim jacket would be worn each.and.every.day if I thought for one millisecond that you all wouldn't look at the screen awkwardly while making terrible underbreath remarks about how my outfits lack versatility.

Chambray-NY&Co | Denim-Thrifted

Seriously, chambray and denim jackets are thee best things that the fashion world ever did see!

Oh, and apparently skullies are too because sometimes I just hate my hair!

Sidenote: I love how the green polo man on this skully matches so effortlessly with my jeans. I totally didn't plan that!

99 cent colored denim and stripes are really huge hits in my closet as well!

I love when I can go into my closet and created looks with pieces that I have scored from the thrift.

How much of your closet is thrifted?

I can't wait to hear from you!

Thanks for reading!

Comfortably Chic...

Happy Tuesday dears!

I hope everyone's day is off to a great start! I was supposed to schedule this post last night but of course I got caught up doing other things-it never fails! So now I'm up extremely early writing this post before I step out for work.

Usually, Tuesday is reserved for Trendy Tuesday-my favorite blog day of the week where I highlight my favorite trends. Instead of doing that, I will be hooking up with my blog-girlfriends over at
Everybody, Everywear for their monthly series.

This month we were given free reign to pretty much do whatever we liked as this month's theme is...

 'Back To School'

What item better expresses back to school style than the old faithful denim jacket!?

It's a timeless piece-it can be dressed up or down and paired with pretty much anything-much like the  chambray that I wore in this post

I scored this denim at my local and most favorite thrift shop for just $1!!

And now that fall is just around the corner I'm debating on whether or not I should begin to search for a darker shade.

Denim Jacket-Thrifted (Aeropostale)
I wanted to pair this 'fit with something bold so I went for the red jeans. They're almost like a neutral piece for me because I feel like they too are very versatile and can be paired with just about anything.

Jeans-Thrifted
Because I was only going out for dinner in this 'fit I wanted to keep it simple yet effective, so I paired the  red jeans with green stripes and peek-a-boo oxford flats.

I kinda loved how comfortably chic I felt!

What does your Back to School outfit look like?

Monochromatic Purge...

 Happy Tuesday my loves...

I know that I'm a little late posting today but I was seriously debating whether or not I even wanted to post this look. Some things look so much better in your head than they do on film.

And yeah, this happens to be one of those looks.

Butttt since I love participating in challenges, I decided to submit the look for this month's
 Everybody, Everywear challenge.

I wonder if anyone can guess what the theme is?

**Monochrome**

At first I thought it would be a cinch to build an outfit consisting of varying shades of the same color....

that is until I looked inside my closet...

Don't get me wrong-there are tons of colors in my closet-just not many of the same color...

So here's what I came up with

Tee-Old Navy/Collar Shirt-NY&Co
I'm in love with this striped tee that I purchased from Old Navy during one of their super clearance sales. I believe I snagged it for just over $1. I paired a lighter blue collared shirt under it and I was actually pleased with the contrast of shades.

Thennnnn, the problem surfaced when I got down to the pants.

Pants-Wet Seal/Pumps-Wild Pair (old)
I purchased these wide legs from Wet Seal last year during one of their Buy 1, Get 1 for a penny sales. Being that they are a thin linen material I picked out a size smaller than what I would normally wear because I knew they would stretch.

When I tried them on then, I loved them.
Now, not so much.

They stretched out way too much for me so now they just kinda look like I have on pants that are too big for me.

Needless to say that I'm in the process of purging my closet and I'm totally thinking that these pants are gonna get tossed into the 'purge' pile.

 But, this gorgeous pearl necklace-

Pearls-NY&Co
I'M KEEPING!!

How do you decide whether items in your closet will 'go' or 'stay'?

I can't wait to hear your answers!

Thanks for reading.
XOXOXOXOXO

Trendy Tuesday: N(e)on Goodness

Happy Tuesday my loves!

Once again it's cloudy and dreary in my area so I had to peel myself out of the bed to come to work. However, my productivity rate is feeling like a little less than 0 today! I honestly just want to catch up on my weekly reading because I'm slowly but surely falling behind. Is it crazy that I find myself wanting to blog more than I want to work these days-even though blogging nets me ZERO dollars!!

(okay, maybe it's just me)

I'm excited and non-excited for a number of reasons on this Trendy Tuesday.

Let me share the excitement first:

I actually remembered that it was time for the Everybody,Everywear link up, which happens on the second Tuesday of each month. This month the trend of discussion is-N(E)ON. Sooooo, the non-excitement (I swear I love making up words) set in when I looked through my closet and realized that I own little to no neon items to create an outfit with.

Oh how I wish that I could open my closet and make these things appear:

Neon Essentials...

However, since I'm non-fortunate, thrifty, and shameless, and would never in a million years spend thousands of dollars for the above listed merchandise here's what I have to work with...

Skinny Biker Pants-Platos

The lighting totally killed the color of my n(e)on green tunic but you get the gist. I really wanted to keep everything else neutral. I added the red purse for an unexpected dose of excitement, otherwise the outfit would have been a little dry.

See...

So let's add the purse and the jacket again...
Purse-NY&Co

The shoe...

Shoe-Thrifted (Steve Madden)

The accessories...

Bracelet-Platos/Two Finger Ring-Icing/Knuckle Ring-Local Festival

And the n(e)on shirt...

Shirt-NY&Co

And you end up with this...

Jacket-NY&Co
N(e)on Goodness...

What do you think about the n(e)on trend this season?
Did I do okay or should I have added more n(e)on?

Thanks for reading.
XOXOXOXO

EBEW: Jolly Green...

Hello Lovelies.

I hope that each of you are having a more than amazing Tuesday. And I hope your weekend was even better.

I was able to score some sweet deals on a few household items so that always makes for a good weekend. I will be sharing those things in a later post.

Now...on to the realness.

I've been wearing green all weekend trying to find just the right 'fit to wear for this month's edition of Everybody Everywear. And this is what I came up with.

A jolly mix of green and blue.

I'm not to thrilled with how grainy the pics are...

Skinnies-F21/Shirt and Cardi-NY & Co.

Boots-Platos

Nor am I too thrilled with the flyaway piece of hair that kept creeping out...
