Thrifty and Shameless Find: Dana Buchman Leather

Happy Monday my loves.

It's time to talk about my 'Thrifty and Shameless' find of the week.

As an avid thrifter and boutique owner I love it when I stumble across things that are new with the tags still attached.

For instance, this great Dana Buchman Bustier...

I found it at a Goodwill shop in South Carolina last summer for a whopping $2.99. Might I add that Charleston, SC has some AMAZING Goodwill stores.

Anyhow, this was the only item I scored at this particular Goodwill that I visited and I was OK with that. This bustier was so extremely soft. As soon as I saw the $350 price tag I knew it would resell for a decent amount.

I actually let this sit for so long that I forgot about it. When I put it up for sale, it sold in less than 3 days. I felt like shooting myself in the foot because I only listed it for $40 when I should've listed it in the upper $100's. Oh well, you live and you learn. There will be much more awesome finds to be had. so I will make sure to capitalize on those. After all, I'm still trying to get the hang of everything.

What kind of thrifting/reselling mistakes have you made in the past?

Please feel free to visit the shop, like and follow on Facebook and Instagram, and stay tuned for awesome deals and daily updates.

My inventory gets posted first on Ebay, then I move on to InstagramVinted, and FB groups. I usually post new things on Sunday and Thursday give or take a day or two.

If you have specific styling questions or concerns leave them in the comments section or email me directly at missrockwellsracks@gmail.com.

I look forward to hearing from you and I hope to fulfill your styling needs somewhere in the near future.

As always, Thank You for reading.

Savings Cravin': How To Save Money on Printer Ink

So my HP ran slam out of ink right in the middle of printing my coupons for the HT Super Double event last week. Usually I'm able to run out to Office Max to pick up another cartridge but that began to get costly, besides the fact that it was 2AM.  I searched my trusty 'ole Ebay for refill ink and ended up saving myself about $110. This is the best thing since sliced bread IMO.

Here's how you can get your own.

If you're a fan of Ebay, you can start there, however, I'm sure mass merchants like Amazon will have the same thing if you prefer ordering there.

You will need to type the exact name of your printer in the search bar along with the words 'refill ink'.  You can then make the best selection to fit your needs. I ordered this 3 pack.

Each pack will refill my cartridge 3 times. That's 9 cartridges of ink for $7.96!!! The ink that I would have normally purchased is anywhere from $13-$17 per cartridge so you do the math.

My package arrived in 2 days. I was super excited!

And installation was the easiest part of all. The refills came with an 'instruction manual' that was a cinch to read and understand.

After about 4 easy steps and 5-10 minutes of my time.....

I was back up and printing and I didn't even have to leave the comfort of my own home.

Trust me when I say as long as Ebay is in business, I won't ever buy ink from Office Max again unless they are practically giving it away.

Let me know if this tip helped.

And stay tuned for more deals, savings, and thrifty and shameless shenanigans. Please feel free to follow my Instagram as well as Facebook pages for additional info.

Thanks for reading.

Clearance Rack Class...

Happy Wednesday my loves!!

It's hump day and that means we are halfway through the week-one day closer to the weekend.

I've been spending alot of time out of town so outfit pics have been few and far between but I did want to do a quick post sharing an outfit that I styled for church a couple of weekends ago.

I immediately fell in love with the style and structure of this dress when I saw it on the clearance rack in Forever 21. The mesh front showed just the right amount skin, making it both work and church appropriate

Dress-Forever 21
I layered it with a metallic silver cardigan found on the clearance rack at Target

Cardigan-Target
I'm such a sucker for details so the Peter Pan collar on this dress had me at hello.

Shoes-Ebay
As did the keyhole cutout and additional mesh detailing in the back of the dress.

Overall, I really liked this classy and sophisticated look. The shade of this dress is one that I don't often see so I also decided to submit this look to the DASANI DROPS #flavorfy color challenge going on here.

What do you all think?

I can't wait to hear from you.

Until then, thanks for reading!

Classically Stated...

 Happy Thursday my loves!

We are one day closer to the weekend. I am so glad that this has been a fairly speedy work week. I don't have major plans for the weekend as my last couple of weekends have been pretty hectic. Since I am planning to visit DC in a couple of weeks for the Inauguration I'm going to try to lay low and stay in the house.

I'm hoping to get started on some new DIY projects as well as my 2013 vision board. I'm also looking forward to adding some new and exciting things to my shop, Miss Rockwells Racks. So even though I will be on the low this weekend, I promise to make it a productive one.

It's been a while since I've done an outfit post so I wanted to make sure I shared a 'fit that I put together to attend church a couple of weeks ago.

I've always had an affinity for classic pieces. They never go out of style and they can be remixed numerous times without losing their effect.

Take this striped turtle neck, cropped cigarette pants, and gray blazer.  When viewed separately these items are ordinary, nothing to call home about. But when these essential items are paired together, they create a clean, classically stated look.

I also love bold statement pieces that can be remixed over and over again.

For instance, this purse is one of my faves! I thrifted it a couple of years ago and I can't get enough of it. I think it's really chic and sophisticated.

Satchel-Thrifted (Vintage)

These leopard heels that I scored from Ebay are also one of my go to items. They bring out the best in this otherwise simplistic outfit.

This blazer was another one of my thrifted finds.  Leaving the store with this baby was a no brainer as I have yet to find this type of blazer anywhere. I'm thinking of adding some elbow patches to it soon.

Cropped Pants-Thrifted (Ann Taylor)

It always amazes me how well I like effortless looks.

It reminds me that style does not always have to be complicated in order to be well executed!

Do you prefer classic pieces or more trendy clothing items?

I can't wait to hear from you.

Thanks for reading.

Friday Favorites: Vol #19

TGIF my loves!

Another week down. I'm pretty excited for the weekend as I will be spending time with some of my old classmates from high school. I'm also planning to spend time with my goddaughter and my bestie before they leave town for a week, and of course I'm going to spend some time with the dude.

The last couple of weeks have been pretty interesting for me-here's a recap...

NEW items added to my ebay site...Please email thriftyandshameless@gmail.com if you're interested or you can visit my site here

Vintage LA Gear's Size 6.5
NEW Satin Bow Pumps Size 8

My grocery haul from Harris Teeter's Super Double Coupon event

Homemade garden salad-for those days when I want to eat healthy...

Date night with my favorite guy (follow me on instagram --> @sherockwell for more date night updates). I love taking pics of our shoes. Maybe one day he will show his face on the blog.

Now reading Decoded by Jay-Z. I may just be his biggest fan. This book is so interesting as it decodes the lyrics to some of his most intricate songs. I'm debating on whether I should do a '10 Things I Learned About Jay-Z' post. Hmmmm??

Leopard capris-ummm YES!!! I'm totally obsessed with leopard print. I looovvee these because they fit like jogging pants so I can dress them up or down and still be comfy!

Fall pattern mixing inspiration from Target.

I finally found a nail stamping kit that didn't cost me a ton of money. $6.99 at Ross. DIY manicures here I come!

I have been eyeing this skirt from Target for well over 2 months now. They finally marked it down and I snatched it with the quickness. I have so many ideas for it already!

New mag swag. OK seriously, I have a huge pile of unread magazines that I need to get working on. I'm missing out on all types of inspiration by just letting them sit in my living room. I wish someone would come and help me read them.

That's it dolls-my Friday Favorites.
What were some of your favorite things from this week?

Do share.

Thanks a bunch for reading!
XOXOXOXOXO
